Dr. Laura Koberda’s family immigrated from Poland. As a first generation Polish-American, Dr. Koberda was born in Texas, but calls Tallahassee, FL home. After graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Florida State University, Dr. Koberda completed her dental education at the Medical University of South Carolina. She then pursued an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Florida campus in St. Petersburg, FL where she received advanced surgical training.
“I joined this amazing profession because I want to help others overcome their fears of dentistry and give back to the community. Dentistry is about building lifelong relationships and assisting patients in developing a better understanding of their oral health care needs. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a patient smile again for the first time in years, or relieving a patients chronic pain.”
Dr. Koberda joined the Watts Dental family 2 years ago and immediately felt at home. With the support of a strong team and state of the art facility, she’s been able to better serve the Tampa Bay community by staying up to date with the most innovative dental practices and spreading the team’s mission of treating patients “like you would your own family”. She added a personal touch by introducing therapy dogs to the practice and has assisted in expanding Watts Dental to new locations (Riverview, Apollo Beach, St Petersburg, Parrish).
As an avid beach goer and boater, she naturally fell in love with the Tampa Bay area. Tennis is her sport of choice, but Dr Koberda prides herself in being an avid Florida State Football fan. She is passionate about her local sports teams and you can often find her wearing Lightning or Buccaneers jerseys as she cheers her teams on to victory. In her spare time, Dr. Koberda is a lover of local restaurants and finds the best spots in town to enjoy.
“We always need to support our local community. I love how many local family run restaurants there are in the area. It’s what separates Tampa Bay from other cities.”
Dr. Koberda is an energetic and enthusiastic dentist, and is proud to practice as part of the Tampa Bay community.
Professional memberships include: American Academy of Clear Aligners (Platinum Plus Provider), Academy of General Dentistry, Florida Dental Association, West Coast District Dental Association, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
