Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist

Carmelo J. Blanquicett, MD, MA, PhD, FACP, is a graduate of Moffitt Cancer Center’s Hematology/Oncology Fellowship, Tampa, FL and Emory University School of Medicine’s General Medicine and Geriatrics Program, in Atlanta, GA.  Dr. Blanquicett’s current patient care and research focus is on gastrointestinal and geriatric oncology.  He is transitioning from Tampa to Washington D.C. where he currently performs as a Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist with a recognized Federal Agency. Additionally, he’s an officer in the U.S. Air Force, training as a flight surgeon, and was awarded the Jr. Officer Physician of the Year of the Air Force Reserve in 2021. He has authored numerous publications, including book chapters in oncology, particularly in his area of expertise of gastrointestinal oncology. Dr. Blanquicett enjoys participating in medical missions and in the care of underserved patients during his free time.
