Ivan Suñer, MD, Marc Peden, MD and Nadim Rayess, MD
The physicians of Retina Associates of Florida (RAF) are board-certified, fellowship-trained specialists delivering the most current and compassionate retina care in the Tampa Bay Area since 1985. RAF is unique in being the only South Tampa practice exclusively dedicated to delivering world-class retina and ocular oncology care. Drs. Ivan Suñer, Marc Peden, and Nadim Rayess believe their success is measured by the satisfaction of their patients and referring doctors, the professionalism of their staff, and the recognition by their peers in providing world-class care.
Having trained and taught at some of the most prestigious institutes in the country, the doctors of RAF are eager to offer cutting-edge treatments found in academic institutions into a private practice setting, while delivering personalized, customer-friendly care. They are involved in bringing novel therapies for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, retinal vascular diseases, and eye tumors.
While patient care is their number one priority, Drs. Suñer, Peden, and Rayess are also driven by a desire to contribute and move their specialty forward. The doctors lecture extensively in prestigious national and international meetings such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, Retina Society, and Macula Society. They have published well over 100 articles combined in major journals. They are humbled to be recognized and receive complex referrals from their colleagues locally as well as nationally.
Dr. Suñer is originally from Puerto Rico. A Veteran of the United States Air Force, Dr. Suñer is a recipient of “Meritorious Service” Medal, and is grateful to still be able to serve our local military community. In his spare time, Dr. Suñer enjoys spending time with his wife, Elise, watching Tampa sports teams, cooking together, and spoiling their 2 cats.
Dr. Peden is a native Floridian from Jacksonville. He enjoys spending time with his wife Carmen and their 3 daughters traveling, boating, and fishing. He is actively involved in Christ the King parish and loves Lightning hockey, but lives for Gator football.
Dr Rayess hails from California and moved to Florida in 2021. He enjoys watching professional sports and has quickly become a huge Bucs and Lightning fan. In his spare time he also can be found exploring local community events and meeting new people.
