Board Certified Endodontist

Dr. Reham El-Hennawey is a dentist with a specialty in Endodontics – a branch of dentistry focused on the diagnosis and treatment of all diseases associated with the nerve of a tooth. She performs root canals, in addition to a variety of other procedures to relieve pain and remove dental infections. After obtaining her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in Canada, she decided to specialize in Endodontics while pursuing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry and she later received a master’s degree along with her certificate in Endodontics from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Dr. El-Hennawey regularly performs these specialized dental procedures, but her passion goes beyond the typical dental office. Her mission is to provide free dental care to underprivileged people around the world. Most recently, she and a team of 10 dentists visited Ensenada, Mexico, where they treated more than 80 patients, both adults and children, in just a day and a half. Through the non-profit organization Dental Care for Children, Dr. El-Hennawey plans to visit Ensenada again in February 2023 to provide treatment for children living in an orphanage.

“Patients come to me in the worst of pain,” she said. “When the procedure is done, seeing their change in demeanor and their gratitude as they are relieved from the pain is so rewarding. Root canals are not what they used to be, and my goal is to change the reputation they have, one patient at a time.”

For more than a decade, Dr. El-Hennawey has been helping patients achieve a confident and healthy smile. She speaks four languages to help break the language barrier for patients who don’t speak English. She has completed over 12,000 endodontic treatments to date. She is also board certified; a distinction that fewer than 25% of U.S. Endodontists possess. Dr. El-Hennawey’s dedication to her patients shows, consistently achieving designations as a top performer in her field. Additionally, she recently joined Sage Dental, a growing, technology-forward dental service organization, where she will provide specialized endodontic dental procedures for patients in the Tampa Bay Area.

When she’s not tackling root canals, Dr. El-Hennawey enjoys the performing arts and being outdoors. She has participated in more than a dozen long-distance races. An avid traveler, she has visited about 20 different countries worldwide, enjoying the variety of cultures and experiencing what life has to offer abroad.
