Mary Ann Stiles, P. A. Attorney
Mary Ann Stiles has built a legal career defined by pioneering leadership, landmark achievements, and unwavering dedication to her clients. Today, she leads her firm, Mary Ann Stiles, P.A., following her role as General Counsel for CompCorrect, Inc. and Construction Casualty Insurance, LLC (2020–2025). Her path has included serving as partner in the Tampa office of Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (2012–2020) and founding Stiles, Taylor & Grace, P.A., where she practiced for three decades.
Since 1978, Ms. Stiles has been a trusted legislative counsel for corporate clients before the Florida Legislature, the Executive Branch, and in other states—making her one of the first women to lobby extensively for Florida’s business community. She made history as the first woman inducted into the Workers Compensation Research Institute Hall of Fame and was also the first of only two women to be inducted as Fellows in the American Bar Association College of Workers’ Compensation.
Her professional accolades include more than 30 years of AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Ratings in Martindale-Hubbell, recognition in Florida Trend’s “Florida Legal Elite,” repeated listings in The Best Lawyers in America© (2008–2024), “Lawyer of the Year” honors, Florida Super Lawyers distinction, and multiple Lifetime Achievement Awards from Marquis Who’s Who and IAOTP. She is a #1 International Best-Selling Author and recipient of IAOTP’s Hall of Fame and Presidential Award in Law.
In 2025, Ms. Stiles received the inaugural Francis Perkins Award from the Florida Bar Committee of Women in Workers’ Compensation for her groundbreaking role in the field.
A graduate of Antioch School of Law, Florida State University, and Hillsborough Community College, she has served on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards. She is married to Barry Smith, All-American football player at Florida State, lst round draft choice to Green Bay Packers; and, Florida Sports Hall of Fame inductee.
