USF Health Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery
Dr. Katie Propst

The USF Health Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery division attracts patients from across Florida for specialized care. Our team of highly trained, board-certified specialists collaborate to diagnose, treat, and manage routine and complex pelvic floor disorders.

Led by Director of Urogynecology, Dr. Katie Propst, the program provides comprehensive care to women with pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse, bowel and bladder incontinence, fistulas, and urethral diverticula. Our surgeons tailor procedures specifically to fit patients’ needs. Most of all, our surgeons listen to patients and focus on their individual symptoms and treatment goals. Many surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis, resulting in shorter recovery and quicker return to daily activities. In addition, we provide specialized care for women with pregnancy-related pelvic floor disorders in the Pregnancy and Postpartum Pelvic Health Clinic (PPPHC). The PPPHC is a subspecialty clinic providing care to pregnant and postpartum women with pelvic floor disorders, complex obstetric lacerations, and laceration complications.

Our practice focuses on continuous improvement; we routinely review our outcomes and revise our practices to provide the safest, evidence-based care. These efforts are evidenced in our low rate of complications. We are certified as a Center of Excellence in Continence Care for Women by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), and our surgeons are recognized as Surgeons of Excellence by the SRC. Drs. Propst and Lynch are recognized as Top Doctors by Castle Connolly and Dr. Hidalgo is recognized as a USF Health Patient Experience Top Performer. Our practice is part of the USF Health Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology which is ranked #6 in the nation by US News and World Report. In addition to excellence in clinical care, we run an active academic practice with a fellowship program and a productive research program that contributes to evidence-based care across the United States.
