Dr. Sally Mitchell is an Interventional Radiologist in Saint Petersburg, FL, and is affiliated with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She received her medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine, followed by residency and fellowship at Cincinnati General Hospital, and further Interventional Radiology fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where she remained on faculty for 36 years.
She holds the title of Professor Emeritus at Johns Hopkins University. During her work there, she established and was Director of the Vascular Anomalies Center, Director of the HHT (Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia) Center of Excellence, and established and directed Pediatric Interventional Radiology. She trained 200 fellows in advanced Interventional Radiology and received teaching and mentorship awards. She has more than 100 publications and over 500 citations.
Dr. Mitchell is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, a Fellow in the Society of Interventional Radiology, a Fellow in CIRSE (Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe), a member of the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies, and a member of the Society for Pediatric Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Mitchell received the Johns Hopkins Miller-Coulson Academy Award for Excellence in Patient Care and continues to demonstrate compassionate care for children and their families.
Dr. Mitchell is currently an interventional radiologist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Having been in practice for 41 years, Dr. Mitchell is experienced in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, renovascular hypertension, portal hypertension, varicocele treatment, pediatric interventional radiology, interventional radiology, and vascular anomalies.
She is part of the Multidisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Center and has established a Multidisciplinary Center for HHT at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
