Dr. Robert Donnelly is a board-certified, fellowship-trained spine surgeon with more than 35 years of experience delivering exceptional orthopedic care. A California native, he earned his medical degree from the University of California before completing his residency at the renowned Mayo Clinic in 1998. He then went on to complete a spine fellowship in Gainesville, Florida, further refining his expertise in complex spinal conditions. Dr. Donnelly also holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Cornell University—reflecting his deep commitment to advancing medical science and evidence-based practice.
Since 2002, Dr. Robert Donnelly has served the Tampa Bay community as a trusted orthopedic specialist, treating a wide range of conditions including joint degeneration, sports injuries, auto accident trauma, and disorders of the spine. He has been in private practice at Full Circle Orthopedics since 2015 and is credentialed at several local hospitals as well as surgery centers throughout the area. Dr. Donnelly is recognized not only for his clinical excellence but also for his compassionate, patient-focused approach. Blending advanced surgical techniques with individualized care, he is dedicated to helping each patient achieve optimal recovery and lasting relief.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Donnelly is a former competition-winning bodybuilder and remains dedicated to fitness, maintaining an active presence in the gym. His disciplined approach to health and wellness translates into his patient care philosophy, emphasizing strength, mobility, and long-term functional improvement. He also has a deep passion for music, which brings balance and inspiration to his life.
