Known for his expertise in dealing with unique and unconventional issues in family law cases, Mr. Phipps (affectionately known as the “the bearded lawyer” by his clients and the legal community at large) has been specializing in family law for the past 14 years.  He successfully represents individuals in family law matters throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties, and focuses his practice on guiding clients through difficult situations with empathy and honesty, while maintaining a focus on accomplishing his client’s goals.  

Mr. Phipps is a native New Yorker, who was born in Manhattan and grew up in Oceanside on Long Island.  He is a proud Veteran of the United Stated Army, where he was on active duty for the better part of 4 years as a Military Policeman conducting physical security with the 980th Military Police Company in California, Law Enforcement or “Garrison Duty” with the 92nd Military Police Company in Germany, and Combat Operations while attached to the  3rd Armored Division in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.  

Mr. Phipps earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tampa and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Stetson College of Law.  Mr. Phipps spent 18 years working at JPMorgan Chase, where he held a myriad of positions, including project manager, Six Sigma Black Belt, compliance manager, and his last position as Assistant General Counsel.

After 18 years with JPMorgan Chase, Mr. Phipps experienced what he describes as an “existential crisis” and a desire to litigate, which led him to transition into private practice with a specialization in family law. Over the last 14 years, Mr. Phipps has become well-known in the family law field for being calm in stressful and high-conflict situations, creating practical and creative solutions for difficult problems, and achieving his clients’ goals through settlement and litigation.
