Dr. Miguel Rivera has been in practice in the Tampa area for the past 23 years. His medical career dreams began during his senior year at Hillsborough High School, Tampa. He was selected to attend the University Of Nevada School Of Medicine while he was serving in the Air Force at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. He then completed residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University of South Florida, department of Otolaryngology, where he has continued to teach residents as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital for the past 18 years. 

Once in private practice, he led the formation of Florida ENT & Allergy (FENTA), the largest and most comprehensive ENT practice in the state.  His goal was to be able to encompass most aspects of otolaryngology care within the practice. FENTA offers Balloon Sinus Dilation Procedures, Allergy Treatment, Voice Disorder Therapy, Swallow Therapy, Balance/Vertigo Rehabilitation, Facial Plastic Surgery, Thyroid Surgeries, and in-office procedures for many head and neck disorders.

As a private otolaryngologist, he takes care of patients from the very young to the very old in sinus diseases, thyroid tumors, vertigo, hearing loss, neck masses and throat disorders.  Some of his younger colleagues have been trained and mentored by him.  He was voted by his state peers as the Florida Otolaryngologist of the year in 2013 and has been selected as a Top Doctor for the past 15 years.

Dr. Rivera continues to advance his skills and experience by continuous training with the newest technology and procedures in the treatment of head and neck diseases. He has received multiple research awards at the national level and has given multiple presentations on the business of a medical practice. He has led at the state level by serving as Past President of the Florida Society of Otolaryngology and continues his community involvement by volunteering for the Judeo/Christian Clinic. 

Dr. Rivera’s outside interests are attending live hometown sports and loves spending quality time traveling with his family. Go Bucs, Rays, Lightning, and Rowdies!
