Mark Rankin is the founder of The Law Office of Mark P. Rankin, P.A. For nearly a quarter century, he has provided an aggressive defense to those accused of criminal offenses in Florida’s state and federal courts. Mark’s passion is ensuring every client gets fairness, justice, and their day in court.
Mark graduated magna cum laude from Old Dominion University and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1999. He completed prestigious clerkships with two federal judges in West Palm Beach. He then spent three years as a Federal Public Defender fighting for defendants who could not afford to hire counsel. As an FPD, Mark honed his trial skills and earned a reputation for zealous courtroom advocacy. Since leaving public service, Mark has handled hundreds of state and federal criminal cases, frequently winning dismissals, acquittals, and reduced sentences. Along the way, Mark earned a reputation as a lawyer who does not fear taking his cases to trial.
Mark has extensive experience in white collar criminal defense. He often represents companies, owners, executives, and employees in state and federal criminal investigations. He believes early intervention and advocacy can prevent later criminal charges or expensive litigation. He has successfully defended numerous health care professionals and companies, including pharmacists, physicians, pharmacies, medical practices, and insurance company executives. For those in the health care space, Mark also handles defense of federal False Claims Act whistleblower lawsuits.
Mark prides himself on client accessibility and service. The stress of a criminal investigation or defending a criminal case in court is difficult on a person – and their family.
