Emergency Veterinarian, Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists and Emergency Care Center

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Madeleine always knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and live near the ocean. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Youngstown State University, she further pursued her passion by attending the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Following veterinary school, Madeleine completed a small animal rotating internship at the Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle, gaining valuable experience in various specialties. Determined to follow her dream of living by the ocean, she relocated to Florida, where she began working at the Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care Center.

Now, with over a year and a half of experience as an emergency doctor, Madeleine thrives in the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine, particularly in intensive care. The collaborative nature of the facility, which brings together both specialty and emergency veterinarians, ensures the best possible care for critically ill animals. Madeleine finds immense reward in helping very sick animals recover and return home to their families.

With a deep love for all mammals, Madeleine has a special fondness for giant breeds. She shares her life with a nine-year-old Saint Bernard who has been by her side through every step of her journey. Outside of work, she actively volunteers with exotic animals at Sunken Gardens in Saint Petersburg.

In her free time, Madeleine enjoys jet skiing, snorkeling, reading, rock climbing, and body surfing, making the most of coastal living.
