Managing Attorney & Founder – Immigration Law Practice

From Immigrant to Advocate: Fighting for Families Like My Own

Attorney Lisette Sánchez was born in the Dominican Republic and, like many of her clients, came to the United States in search of a better future. Her personal journey as an immigrant has become the foundation of her life’s work. “Soy su abogada, inmigrante como usted,” she proudly says—“I am your attorney, immigrant like you.”

She immigrated to Puerto Rico, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication and Journalism from the University of Puerto Rico. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the Pontifical Catholic University School of Law, graduating cum laude.

She began her legal career in family law but found her true calling when she moved to the Tampa Bay Area in 2014 and took charge of the immigration division at a local law firm. In 2016, she founded her own practice—focused entirely on Immigration Court defense and family-based immigration petitions.

Her firm has helped hundreds of individuals and families obtain lawful status and win their removal cases. A native Spanish speaker, she also specializes in asylum law and is a strong advocate against the unauthorized practice of law. She proudly serves on the UPL Committee for AILA’s Central Florida Chapter.

One of her greatest passions is educating her community—which is why she is very active on social media, where she regularly shares videos in Spanish to inform and empower the Hispanic community about their immigration rights and options.

Licensed in both Florida and Puerto Rico, she brings not only legal expertise but also deep compassion to every case. As a mother, stepmother, and wife, she knows firsthand what’s at stake for immigrant families.

“I fight for my clients like I would fight for my own family—because in so many ways, they are.”
