Lara Tibbals is the founder of Tibbals Mediation LLC, bringing over 25 years of legal, professional, and business experience to her role as a trusted problem solver and peacemaker. A Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil and Family Law Mediator, she leverages her background in business litigation and negotiation to help individuals, families, and companies resolve disputes outside of court.
Lara is known for her thoughtful, efficient approach and proven ability to guide parties through difficult conversations toward meaningful resolution. Her mediation practice spans personal injury, commercial and contract disputes, real estate, insurance, probate, guardianship, and family law. All mediations are available remotely via Zoom.
Previously an equity partner at one of Tampa’s leading firms, Lara handled complex business litigation in state and federal courts. She earned her Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Florida College of Law and holds a B.A. in Communication from Florida State University. She further refined her negotiation skills at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.
Lara serves as co-chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Mediation and Arbitration Section and is a frequent speaker on alternative dispute resolution. Her accolades include the James M. “Red” McEwen Award and the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award.
Beyond her mediation practice, Lara is a Florida Bar nominee and a gubernatorial appointee to the Judicial Nominating Commission for Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a member of both the International Academy of Alternative Dispute Resolution and the Complex Commercial Litigation Institute.
