General Pediatrician
Dr. Kristina Black brings a blend of deep clinical expertise and heartfelt community connection to her role as a board-certified pediatrician. She currently sees patients across two clinics in Wesley Chapel and Zephyrhills, where she is often the sole physician onsite—serving a robust patient population with a calm, steady hand and a clear commitment to timely, compassionate care.
Raised in Maryland (just outside of Washington, D.C.), Dr. Black earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina Central University before completing her Master of Health Sciences and Doctor of Medicine degrees at Meharry Medical College. She completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center/Children’s of Alabama pediatric hospital and later served as Chief Resident in the Pediatric Residency Program at Morehouse School of Medicine. Her post-residency career included clinical work at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and an academic appointment at Morehouse, where she taught future physicians rotating through the pediatric clerkship and mentored students pursuing careers in pediatrics.
Dr. Black’s style of care is personal, approachable, and empowering. She believes every family deserves not just medical advice, but clarity and confidence in how to care for their children. Her clinical strengths include preventive care, adolescent medicine, and community-based pediatrics, with a strong track record of leadership in equity-driven initiatives and pediatric education.
Outside of clinic walls, she is an avid traveler and proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., with a passion for mentorship, medical education, and health equity. Whether she’s in the exam room or giving back through local outreach, Dr. Black brings purpose, presence, and joy to every interaction.
