Dr. Kathleen Murray

Dr. Kathleen Murray is a double board-certified Neurologist in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology with a passion for providing compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with complex neuromuscular disorders. Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Dr. Murray attended the University of South Florida for undergraduate studies before earning a medical degree with Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honors from Florida State University College of Medicine. She completed both her Neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at the University of South Florida, where she now serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology.

At USF Health, Dr. Murray specializes in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of neuromuscular conditions, including autoimmune disorders such as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN), and myasthenia gravis (MG); genetic and hereditary neuropathies; acquired and inflammatory myopathies such as dermatomyositis and polymyositis; and peripheral nerve and root disorders including radiculopathies. She routinely performs EMG and nerve conduction studies and offers EMG-guided Botox injections for conditions such as spasticity, cervical dystonia, and hemifacial spasm. She is also a dedicated clinician in the USF Multidisciplinary ALS Clinic, supporting patients through the challenges of motor neuron disease with both clinical expertise and deep empathy.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Murray serves as Principal Investigator for five ongoing clinical trials in CIDP and MMN, contributing to the advancement of neuromuscular therapeutics. She is equally committed to medical education, actively mentoring neurology residents, fellows, and medical students to foster the next generation of neuromuscular specialists.

Whether helping a patient regain strength and independence or guiding them through the complexities of a progressive disease, Dr. Murray finds meaning in partnering with patients and families to help them live their fullest lives.
