Riverview Dentistry

Dr. Jim Singletary is a recent dental school graduate who is quickly earning his seat at the table when it comes to restorative dentistry. He is originally from a small coastal farm town in North Carolina but relocated to south Florida where he attended dental school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine’s School of Dental Medicine. After completing a year of clinical training in northern Pennsylvania, he quickly returned to the sunny west coast of Florida where he permanently planted his roots. As a third year dental student, Dr. Singletary lobbied for the advancement of dental students and the profession of dentistry. He was the elected official to the 5th District of the American Student Dental Association where he represented the dental schools of Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Puerto Rico. He and other national representatives worked with the American Dental Association at their headquarters in Chicago to improve the lives and standards of dental students as well as to advocate for their profession. He continues to be involved in organized dentistry as a member of the Florida Dental Association.

Riverview Dentistry welcomed Dr. Singletary to their growing practice this year where he brings a special energy. Dr. Singletary likes to take a conservative approach to dental restorations as he always says “Why drill on teeth, when we don’t have to?” His philosophy comes down to patient education, preserving natural tooth structure, and producing the most favorable outcome. He is an Invisalign certified doctor and has taken numerous courses in advanced restorative treatment. He is a big advocate for aligning and balancing your natural teeth to prevent fractures and wear as opposed to repairing them once they occur. His keen eye for cosmetics, a calm demeanor, and comforting bed-side manner make it easy for the patients to build a rapport with him and he makes sure they have all of their questions answered before they leave each appointment. His emphasis on prevention makes him one of Tampa’s Top Dentists of 2019

Dr. Singletary attributes his success to the support of his family, friends, and his mentor Dr. Joshua Wyatt of South Tampa Dentistry. He is grateful for the guidance and direction he has received as a young clinician and pays it forward by mentoring other young doctors and dental students. Staying involved in his community is very important to him and in his spare time you can find him teaching school children proper oral hygiene or working with the Special Olympics clinical team at local events. He is an avid gym-goer, local food connoisseur, and loves to travel. He and his team are accepting new patients and they can’t wait to meet you. Give them a call today!
