Dr. Jeff Steinhoff

Dr. Steinhoff is a board-certified Cardiologist that has been practicing in Pinellas County since 2004. He moved from North Carolina to Florida after finishing his Fellowship training at UNC Chapel Hill.  Prior to that he received his Internal Medicine Training from Brown University in Providence, RI. He is board certified in Echocardiography and Clinical Lipidology as well.  He has been working at HCA Florida Largo Hospital for almost 21 years.

Dr. Steinhoff is the Medical Director of the Echocardiography department at HCA Florida Largo Hospital since 2015. He is also the Fellowship Director in Cardiovascular Disease and is a Clinical Associate Professor at USF, Morsani College of Medicine, in Tampa. He is very active in Graduate Medical Education and has published papers on valvular infections (Endocarditis) and Broken heart Syndrome (aka Tako-tsubo Cardiomyopathy). He is a member of the Structural Heart Program and works closely with the Advanced Heart Program and with Cardiothoracic Surgeons in the Cardiac Transplant Program at Largo Hospital.

 Dr. Steinhoff takes the time to listen to his patients.  He has been very active in treating coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, high cholesterol and triglycerides, blood pressure, heart failure, peripheral artery disease, and caring for patients with pacemakers and defibrillators. Whenever possible, he tries to reduce a patient’s medications or even consolidate them. If not he explains why the medications are necessary.
