Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer

Dan Clark may be a nationally ranked civil trial lawyer, but he never forgets his Tampa roots—born and raised, and still a proud resident today.

“I was born and brought up here, and I went to Jesuit High School,” he says. “I left to earn my college degree from Duke University, but as soon as I graduated, I came right back to Florida.”

When he wasn’t studying at Duke, Clark was on the football field as a tight end, earning honorable mention as an All-Atlantic Coast Conference athlete.

After completing his undergraduate studies, he attended Stetson University College of Law, where he was a member of the Stetson Law Review and the Stetson Trial Team. He also had the opportunity to work for the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich, former Chief Judge of Florida’s Middle District.

“Those experiences had a huge influence on me,” he says. “They ignited my passion for becoming a trial lawyer.”

Now, more than 30 years after graduating from Duke, Clark is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar, an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), and the managing partner of Clark & Martino, P.A.—the Tampa-based law firm founded by his father.

“What makes me proud is the success we’ve had in recovering compensation for people wronged by negligence or wrongdoing,” he says. “I’m in awe of the fact that we have secured over half a billion dollars in damages for the clients who have come to us for help.”

Among those judgments is a recent $100 million consumer class-action award for Floridians wronged by a local developer who collected illegal fees.

“That was one of the largest consumer class-action cases in Florida history,” Clark notes.

Clark’s accolades include being ranked among The Best Lawyers in America. His firm is recognized as a Best Law Firm by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers.
