Vein, Heart and Vascular Institute

Dr. Hesham Fakhri (Pronounced like Daquiri with an F), has a reputation as “the Doctor with the Big Heart”.

After graduating medical school in 2002, Dr. Fakhri spent 12 years training to become specialized in interventional cardiology and endovascular medicine. Since starting practice, he focused on prevention of both cardiac and vascular diseases. However, if any diseases were to develop, he uses his clinical expertise, state of the art imaging and diagnostic techniques to make a diagnosis and as a last resort minimally invasive procedures to correct the problems.

Dr. Fakhri, since founding the Vein, Heart and Vascular Institute, has made it his life’s mission to provide the highest level of care in a comfortable, modern setting in a patient centered, innovative approach. In order to provide his patients with the utmost of care he provides all cardiac and vascular testing and some procedures at his 2 locations in South Tampa and Wesley Chapel. Some of these services include stress tests, ultrasounds, echocardiograms, pacemaker and defibrillator checks and venous procedures to get rid of varicose veins.

Dr. Fakhri is board certified in nine specialties and subspecialties and with his work ethic, integrity and approach as well as his tireless staff has made him one of the most sought-after cardiovascular physicians in the Tampa Bay area.

Patients have nothing but praise when speaking of Dr. Fakhri. WM said, “Kindness, compassion and Humor. What more can you ask for? A Wonderful doctor.”

Dr. Fakhri has also made great strides in his field to better care for his patients. He was the first doctor in the state of Florida to commercially perform a radial to peripheral (R2P) angiogram, angioplasty and placement of a stent in the leg through the wrist to reduce patient discomfort, patient length of stay and complications.

When not in the office or at the hospital, Dr. Fakhri spends most of his time with his wife and two young daughters usually exercising, watching movies, cooking or travelling when he can squeeze in a much-needed break.
