This summer, Formula 1® fans will flock to theaters for F1, a cinematic spectacle starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, set to redefine racing films. Shot during actual Grand Prix weekends, F1 blends authentic track action with a gripping narrative, following the fictional APXGP team as it battles motorsport giants. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film boasts a stellar cast, including Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, and Tobias Menzies. Mercedes-AMG, an official promotional partner, played a pivotal role, providing expertise, the Official FIA F1® Safety and Medical Cars, and vehicles like the AMG SL, G-Class, and GT for on-screen flair. A global co-promotion campaign in AMG’s core markets will amplify the film’s release. “F1 brilliantly intertwines the APXGP team with real-world Formula 1®. At the Formula 1® Miami Grand Prix, Mercedes-AMG unveiled the 2026 AMG GT 63 “APXGP Edition,” a limited-run supercar (only 52 units worldwide) inspired by the film’s APXGP team. This exclusive model mirrors the movie’s aesthetic with a bespoke paint finish and Race Gold accents on the grille, fenders, and sills, reflecting the fictional team’s livery. The 21-inch AMG Forged Cross-Spoke wheels, matte Race Gold, complement the AMG High Performance Carbon Ceramic Brakes. Carbon fiber elements—front splitter, rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing—enhance its motorsport vibe, while the AMG Extended Night Package adds black chrome accents.
Powered by a 577-hp Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, the AMG GT 63 delivers exhilarating performance. Technologies like AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension, active rear-axle steering, and active aerodynamics ensure precise handling, while its aluminum body offers a spacious 2+2 interior and ample cargo space. The “APXGP Edition” interior dazzles with black Nappa leather, gold contrast stitching, and carbon fiber trim with gold threads. Exclusive touches include illuminated door sills, a Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System, and a “Limited Edition 1 of 52” badge.
