Dr. Carlos Arias is the esteemed Medical Director of Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in Spring Hill, where he oversees the medical and therapy management of an 80-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility. A Board-Certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, Dr. Arias serves the greater Tampa Bay area with unwavering dedication and compassion. Beyond his leadership role, he provides consultative services at local acute care hospitals, ensuring patients receive comprehensive and individualized care.
With a deep passion for enhancing patients’ quality of life, Dr. Arias is committed to delivering the rehabilitation and therapy needed for safe transitions home. He is also recognized for his hands-on approach, frequently visiting skilled nursing facilities and nursing homes to develop effective treatment plans that promote efficient recovery. Dr. Arias prioritizes patient education, empowering individuals to understand their acute and chronic conditions while fostering strategies to reduce hospitalizations. His holistic approach to medicine underscores his belief that true health involves addressing physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Originally from New York, Dr. Arias joined Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostics (R&E) in Tampa in 2021, extending his expertise across four counties. His practice includes collaboration with leading healthcare systems such as Tampa General Hospital, HCA Healthcare, AdventHealth, and Kindred Healthcare. Dr. Arias earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his PM&R residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City.
Specializing in stroke and cancer rehabilitation, musculoskeletal medicine, joint injections, amputee care, and prosthetics, Dr. Arias is a versatile and compassionate physician.
