Business Litigator & Fresco’s Waterfront Bistro

David J. Sockol earned his undergraduate degree from Emory University and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1989. He practices business litigation and real estate law.
Mr. Sockol secured one of the highest jury verdicts ever awarded in Pinellas County—$36 million in SAS v. Kovar (February 2007). He is also proud of winning his first jury trial (later reversed on appeal) and having his case cited over 200 times before it was ultimately distinguished by the U.S. Supreme Court in Lee v. GTE Fla., Inc., 226 F.3d 1249 (11th Cir. 2000).
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Sockol is deeply committed to his community. He is a graduate of the Leadership St. Pete Program and has served on the Board of Directors for the Sunshine City Jaycees, the Suncoast Epilepsy Association, and Northeast Little League.
In addition to his legal and community endeavors, Mr. Sockol owns Fresco’s Waterfront Bistro, a popular dining establishment located at the entrance of the St. Pete Pier. Fresco’s has been recognized as the Best Waterfront Restaurant in the Best of the Bay awards for the past five years, reflecting its popularity and excellence in the local dining scene.
