When Amy Bellhorn was 15 years old, she decided to become an attorney as a voice for the injured and disabled after being involved in a serious accident. She understands exactly what it feels like to be treated by others differently and not have her voice heard, because of an injury. She has a passion and desire to help others as an attorney and treat them with respect, dignity, compassion and kindness; she founded her law firm in 2006 rooted in these.
Her law firm was recognized as the Best Disability Law Firm in St. Petersburg in 2023 & 2024 by LegalDirectorate.com, received numerous Clients’ Choice Awards and a perfect 10.0 rating on Avvo and is a Martindale-Hubbell Client Champion Silver.
Amy earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida State University in 1997 and a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 2000. After graduation from law school, she began as a Staff Attorney at Gulfcoast Legal Services, Inc. in the Public Benefits Unit & HUD Homeless Project and was an Associate at several law firms afterwards.
Amy has been honored to have been a member of various legal organizations, on the Board of Directors of several non-profit organizations, served as an Adjunct Professor in the MBA Program at University of South Florida and received the AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell. She has been recognized by her peers as one of Tampa’s Attorneys of the Year (2024 & 2025) & Tampa’s Top Women in Law 2025 in “Tampa Style Magazine.”
Amy represents people in a variety of areas of law such as: Social Security Disability Insurance, Supplemental Security Income, Estate Planning & Real Estate. She is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified County, Circuit and Family Mediator.
